What is saturation pressure?<br>&nbsp;<br>The temperature at which water boils at one atmosphere is 100\u00b0C, but in plateau areas, due to the low air pressure, water boils at 90\u00b0C. In a pressure cooker, it may take 110\u2103 to boil. This means that at a certain temperature, the pressure required for a liquid to become a gas is fixed, and this pressure is the saturation pressure.<br>&nbsp;<br>The discharge pressure is essentially the saturation pressure corresponding to the temperature to which the gaseous refrigerant is compressed. Let&#8217;s take R22 and <a href=\"https:\/\/tw.lneya.com\/blog\/r404a-vs-r134a.html\">R134a<\/a> as examples. At 35\u2103, the saturation pressure of R22 is about 1.4 MPa, while that of R134a is only about 0.85 MPa. This means that even under normal operation, the discharge pressure of a chiller using R22 is higher than that of a system using R134a.<br>&nbsp;<br>In addition, the amount of refrigerant filled will also affect the discharge pressure.
